This is a contract role at Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc., located in Beacon, NY. The Bannerman Castle Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Bannerman Castle, a historic landmark situated within Hudson Highlands State Park in New York, USA. It works to stabilize and restore the castle structures while protecting the surrounding natural environment and promoting responsible stewardship. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth coordination and execution of cultural and artistic programming, directly supporting the organization’s mission of public engagement and safe visitor experiences at this unique historic site.

• Mission: This person owns the seamless execution of live performances and events, from pre-production through post-event wrap-up, ensuring high-quality and safe experiences at a historic outdoor venue.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee Operations: Coordinate and execute performances and events for Bannerman Castle programming, ensuring smooth operations from pre-production through post-event wrap-up.
• Manage Production: Supervise rehearsals, maintain detailed production schedules, and coordinate effectively with cast and crew.
• Facilitate Cues: Communicate precise cues for lighting, sound, and other performance elements to technical staff.
• Implement & Troubleshoot: Work closely with directors, performers, and technical staff to implement event plans, monitor safety and audience flow, and troubleshoot logistical issues during live events.
• Document & Organize: Organize equipment and materials, meticulously document production details, and support the overall quality and consistency of live experiences at the site.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Experience in event planning for live performances or cultural events, demonstrating strong organizational capabilities. A background or familiarity with music and performing arts, including working with performers and creative teams, is also required.
• Experience: Proven experience as a stage manager or in a similar production or event operations role, capable of managing schedules, logistics, and communications across multiple stakeholders.
• Skills:
* Technical Coordination: Knowledge of basic lighting practices and the coordination of technical cues during performances.
* Logistics & Communication: Proven ability to manage schedules, logistics, and communications across multiple stakeholders effectively.
* On-site Capability: Ability to work on-site, including evening or weekend events, and to navigate outdoor settings safely.
* Problem-Solving & Professionalism: Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a calm, professional approach under time pressure.
* Safety Awareness: Knowledge of basic safety procedures for public events.
• Bonus: Prior work experience at historic or outdoor venues.
