Tax Staff Accountant-Corporate | Caesars Entertainment

The Tone:
This is an entry-level role within the corporate income tax department at Caesars Entertainment, located in Las Vegas, NV. Caesars Entertainment is the largest casino-entertainment company in the U.S. and one of the world’s most diversified casino-entertainment providers, operating brands like Caesars®, Harrah’s®, and Horseshoe®. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the company’s compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, contributing to accurate financial reporting, and identifying strategic tax planning opportunities to maximize benefits.

• Team: Corporate Income Tax Department, reporting to Tax Senior(s)/Manager(s)
• Mission: Ensures corporate income tax compliance, accurate financial reporting, and identifies strategic tax benefits across various jurisdictions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, G/L system

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provisions: Work on quarterly and annual tax provisions required for SEC and other statutory filings.
• Filings: Prepare consolidated federal, state, and city income or franchise tax returns, including forms 5471 and other foreign-related filings.
• Accounting: Prepare tax journal entries for the G/L system related to tax provisions, payments, or refunds, and assist in tax account maintenance and reconciliation.
• Compliance: Assist in the documentation of the Tax Department’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley/404 and prepare quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Research: Conduct research to identify tax planning opportunities, develop strategies, and implement them to maximize tax benefits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Tax.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required for this entry-level position.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, anticipate resource needs, and meet deadlines; Strong team-building and interpersonal relationship skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Licensed Certified Public Accountant in one or more jurisdictions (or in the process of obtaining a CPA license) preferred; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
