Staff Geologist | Onterris

• Mission: To assist with a variety of geological/scientific projects, performing multi-media sampling, supervising drilling investigations, and evaluating environmental sampling data to advance our way of life and protect environmental integrity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Scientific Analysis: Complete scientific analysis for various geological and scientific projects under direct supervision.
• Project Documentation: Assist in developing project document outlines, technical reports, data interpretation, permits, and graphical presentations in a logical and professional manner.
• Field Operations & Investigation: Conduct field inspections, reconnaissance, and specific field activities, including multi-media sampling per US EPA protocols and supervising drilling investigations.
• Technical Skill Development: Become proficient in field sampling, inspections, data collection, QA/QC of data results, data reporting, synthesis, and analysis, while also strengthening technical capabilities and understanding regulatory standards.
• Project Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with technical staff, assist in client contact, track project hours, and communicate potential issues to Project Managers to ensure tasks are completed within schedule and budget.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (preferably Geology) or a closely related science field.
• Experience: No formal work experience is required, but a relevant internship or 1-2 years of entry-level experience is preferred, including performing multi-media sampling in accordance with US EPA protocols, supervising drilling investigations, and evaluating environmental sampling data.
• Skills: Possess excellent writing and communication skills, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail, along with knowledge of computer-aided software such as Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
• Bonus: A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to travel for field work and obtain security clearance at federal installations.
