The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role at CFS, located in Greater Orlando, FL, offering a hybrid work arrangement. This position presents a unique opportunity to build specialized experience in ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract accounting. The Staff Accountant will directly partner with the Manager of Contract Revenue, contributing significantly to month-end close activities and financial reporting. This role is key to gaining exposure to advanced financial systems like Workday and actively participating in automation and process improvement projects, thereby expanding experience across critical accounting operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-end Close: Support monthly close activities through account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Revenue Analysis: Assist with revenue recognition and contract accounting analysis, particularly focusing on ASC 606.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Research variances and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Reporting & Audits: Support audits and financial reporting requirements.
• Process Improvement: Participate in system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; demonstrating an understanding of month-end close processes and fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience: 1+ years of prior accounting experience.
• Skills: Performing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, researching variances, resolving accounting discrepancies, supporting audit processes, assisting with financial reporting, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems or other accounting technology.
