Investment Accounting – Staff Accountant I | Security Benefit

• Mission: This role supports investment and equity reporting, audit processes, and financial statement preparation to ensure accuracy and compliance, playing a key part in the financial integrity of the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit PBC schedules for consolidated audits, including rollforward and reconciliation workpapers.
• Reporting & Analysis: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual investment and equity rollforward schedules and portfolio presentation driver summaries.
• Cash Flow Management: Prepare and reconcile cash flow schedules and their related supporting documentation.
• Financial Statement Contribution: Assist with investment and fair value footnote preparation for audited GAAP financial statements.
• Data Integrity: Perform data validation to support the accuracy of reported consolidation results.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience; investment accounting experience is a plus.
• Skills: Working knowledge of GAAP; strong organizational skills with attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong computer skills including MS Office Suite, with Excel proficiency required.
• Bonus: CPA candidate or willingness to pursue CPA designation; willingness to develop industry-related knowledge in investment and financial reporting.
