This Staff Accountant II position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records by performing professional accounting, analysis, and efficient accounts payable processing, ensuring all records are organized and fully auditable for management and compliance. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can support various accounting functions and contribute to the financial health of the division.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Process all invoices and purchase orders, ensuring timely payment for the Division, and manage vendor compliance with insurance requirements and lien waivers.
• Financial Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of vendor statements to ensure all accounts payable are accurate, current, and properly recorded.
• Reporting & Financial Support: Assist in the preparation and distribution of weekly financial reports for Division management and the corporate office, and contribute to the preparation and maintenance of account reconciliations.
• Month-End Close Activities: Support month-end responsibilities, including preparing essential journal entries and assisting with various closing procedures.
• Audit and Special Projects: Provide direct assistance to internal and external auditors as needed, and undertake ad-hoc duties and special projects assigned by the Division Controller or VP Finance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this early-career role, which supports financial operations within the homebuilding industry.
• Experience: Proven accounts payable experience and strong computer literacy, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Demonstrated analytical abilities, effective communication skills, acute attention to detail, a strong sense of prioritization, and a collaborative team-worker mindset.
• Bonus: A strong desire to learn accounting skills specific to the homebuilding industry and a credit report in good standing.
