Staff Accountant | AMSURG

This is an entry-level, remote-centric hybrid role at AMSURG, located in Nashville, TN. AMSURG is a nationally recognized leader in the strategic and operational management of over 250 ambulatory surgery centers across the U.S., partnering with physicians and health systems. This position plays a vital role in overseeing the accounting and financial functions of assigned centers, directly supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care through accurate financial management.

• Mission: Responsible for the accounting and financial functions of assigned ambulatory surgery centers, including daily accounting oversight, monthly financial reporting, and cash management.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide Financial Guidance: Serve as the primary resource for center personnel regarding financial issues and best practices.
• Manage Cash Flow: Oversee the inflow and outflow of cash for assigned surgery centers, maintaining the proprietary cash management system and facilitating fund movement.
• Prepare Financial Statements: Create all general ledger journal entries necessary to generate financial statements and prepare assigned center’s cash flow statements, reviewing for accuracy.
• Conduct Financial Analysis: Analyze end-of-month financial packages, income statement trends, balance sheet accounts, and recorded accounts receivable balances, identifying and researching variations for management review.
• Perform Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile all bank accounts from bank statements to the general ledger, investigating and correcting differences, and identifying process or control issues.

• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University; Entry-level accounting position.
