Staff Accountant | RELX
The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at RELX, located in Norwalk, CT. RELX is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools, while its division RX is a global leader in events and exhibitions. This role is crucial for supporting key accounting operations and serving as a primary contact for Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense activities. The position offers an opportunity to build accounting expertise, contribute to financial close processes, and support system transformation initiatives, ensuring accurate financial reporting and excellent support to business partners.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate: Serve as a primary contact for Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense matters, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve questions and issues.
• Assist: Help employees and buyers with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice and payment inquiries, and vouchers placed on hold.
• Reconcile: Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting policies.
• Process: Prepare and post timely and accurate journal entries as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Support: Assist in the migration to Oracle Fusion by reconciling legacy data, validating account mappings, testing financial transactions, and supporting month-end reporting transition activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, and general accounting processes.
• Experience: Experience supporting accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
