The Tone:
This is a hybrid full-time Staff Accountant role, located in Durham, NC. Digital Turbine creates mobile advertising experiences that connect users, app publishers, and advertisers across the mobile ecosystem. This role is essential for supporting the company’s financial operations by ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and executing monthly close cycles. This position provides significant exposure to various accounting work streams, helping to maintain an audit-ready state and supporting management decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Extraction & Entry: Extract, analyze, and manipulate data from relevant systems to propose accurate general ledger journal entries.
• Account Reconciliation & Close: Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain ledger integrity and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual month-end close tasks.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare standard variance explanations, analytics, and key financial metric reports to summarize financial status and support management.
• Process Optimization: Document, standardize, and continuously improve accounting workflows, internal control policies, and operational procedures.
• Audit & Project Support: Assist in pulling support for external auditors during reviews and audits, and execute ad-hoc accounting tasks and strategic projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field, with knowledge of basic accounting procedures and General Ledger functions in a corporate setting.
• Experience: Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and participating in corporate month-end close cycles, or 1-2 years at a public accounting firm. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic internal control concepts.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel for analyzing large, complex financial datasets, exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and proactive analytical problem-solving skills. Ability to function effectively and build relationships in a global, team-oriented, hybrid work environment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with, or strong curiosity to leverage, AI tools to automate routine tasks; experience with Oracle Fusion and other Oracle products.
