Staff Accountant | EOTECH

The Tone:
This is an Exempt Staff Accountant role within the Finance Department at EOTECH. The company is actively seeking a detail-oriented individual to join its team, specifically targeting a recent graduate or early-career candidate with foundational accounting knowledge. This position is crucial for supporting the daily financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities, making it a pivotal entry point for professional growth within the organization. What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Support: Efficiently process accounts payable activities, encompassing invoice entry, accurate coding, securing necessary approvals, maintaining vendor records, and providing essential support for payment processing.
• Accounts Receivable Support: Actively assist with accounts receivable functions, including creating customer invoices, precisely applying cash, following up on outstanding accounts, and conducting aging reviews to ensure timely collections.
• Record Maintenance: Diligently record routine financial transactions and maintain highly organized, accurate accounting records for multiple corporate entities, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, intercompany transactions, and various general ledger accounts, operating under the guidance and supervision of the Controller.
• Month-End Close Assistance: Provide comprehensive support to the Controller during month-end and year-end close processes, which includes preparing necessary journal entries, developing financial schedules, supporting accrual calculations, and conducting detailed account analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a closely related field is a strict requirement for this position. This role is specifically designed for an entry-level professional, ideally a recent graduate, who possesses a basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including the mechanics of debits, credits, and the structure of financial statements. U.S. Citizenship is also a mandatory prerequisite for this role.
• Experience: Candidates should have 0-2 years of work-related experience. The company highly values and welcomes relevant coursework, prior internships, volunteer accounting work, or part-time experience that demonstrates exposure to financial environments.
• Skills: Essential skills for this role include strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational capabilities, clear and effective communication, and robust time-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft applications is necessary, along with a demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting software systems. The ability to proactively ask questions, constructively accept feedback, consistently meet deadlines, and work collaboratively as part of a team is also crucial.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications that will set candidates apart include coursework or practical exposure to areas such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax preparation, audit procedures, or month-end close routines. Familiarity with various accounting, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and AI-driven systems is also considered a valuable asset.
