The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sport Clips Haircuts, located in Georgetown, TX. Sport Clips is a rapidly expanding hair care franchise, operating nearly 1,900 stores across the United States and Canada. This Staff Accountant position is crucial for maintaining the financial health and supporting the ongoing growth of the company. The role ensures accurate and timely financial transactions, robust financial controls, and provides essential reporting and guidance to both internal teams and franchisees, contributing directly to operational efficiency, compliance, and profitability.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger: Manage general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
• Fiduciary Funds: Account for the company’s fiduciary funds, maintaining effective financial controls.
• Financial Support: Provide assistance in the accounts receivable and treasury areas to support financial operations.
• Monthly Close: Assist with the monthly close process by completing journal entries, account reconciliations, and other related tasks.
• Special Projects: Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned to support the finance department’s evolving needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance, or equivalent experience in an early-career accounting role.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software and a solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, GL research, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial data. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, time management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are also required, along with advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivots, lookup).
• Bonus: Experience with Great Plains accounting software, AI, and PowerBI is a plus.
