Staff Accountant, Auto Dealership | LHH

The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role for LHH’s automotive dealership client, located in Fort Worth, TX. The client is an automotive dealership industry player, committed to offering an excellent work/life balance and supporting significant opportunities for professional growth. This position is essential for ensuring precise financial recording and reconciliation of vehicle sales and lease transactions, contributing directly to the dealership’s financial accuracy and compliance.

• Mission: Ensure accurate financial recording, reconciliation, and compliance for all vehicle sales and lease transactions within an automotive dealership setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payment Processing: Accurately record payments for vehicle sales and lease transactions in the accounting system.
• Entry Posting: Post journal entries for sales and lease deals, along with associated AR/AP transactions.
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile customer down payments, deposits, third-party funding, and trade-in vehicle payoffs.
• Compliance & Audits: Maintain complete and compliant documentation for all deals, file lien releases and titles, and provide support during internal and external audits.
• Deal Closure: Finalize and close deals in the accounting system once all financial and title processes are complete.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). Professional accounting experience, specifically within a dealership environment.
• Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in dealership accounting, lease administration, or full-cycle accounting. Proficiency in general ledger accounting, AR/AP, and reconciliations.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, familiarity with lien release, vehicle titling, and registration processes, ability to manage multiple priorities, effective communication, and strong organizational and time management skills.
• Bonus: Previous experience working with accounting software and dealership management systems.
