The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role for a growing, well-established company, located in the Greater Wooster, Ohio area, recruited by Emerald Resource Group. The company operates in a sector where manufacturing, distribution, or packaging experience is beneficial. This position offers an early-career accountant extensive, hands-on exposure to core accounting and finance operations. The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Process Management: Assist with the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures.
• General Ledger Accountability: Prepare accurate journal entries and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Operational Reconciliations: Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank/credit card reconciliations.
• Cost & Inventory Control: Maintain detailed inventory and cost accounting records.
• Financial Reporting & Support: Help with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, and assist external accountants, auditors, and tax requests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; early-career accountant seeking broad experience.
• Experience: 1–3 years of prior accounting experience.
• Skills: Solid grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and general ledger accounting, strong Excel proficiency, comfort with learning ERP systems, detail-oriented, organized, and curious about business operations.
• Bonus: Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or packaging environments.
