Staff Accountant | Trucordia

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payroll Tax Processing: Process daily payroll taxes and tax deposits, precisely importing tax liabilities and reconciling all tax payments due to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Tax System Management: Take responsibility for MasterTax software maintenance, including performing daily and quarterly processes, and conducting regular daily payroll tax audits to identify discrepancies.
• Compliance and Filings: Ensure the timely completion of all necessary multi-state payroll tax filings, covering withholding, unemployment, and other relevant taxes on both monthly and quarterly bases. Additionally, maintain tax registrations and applications across local, regional, and state tax reporting entities to ensure full compliance.
• Financial Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact for addressing questions and resolving issues related to payroll taxes. Collaborate closely with the payroll department to efficiently manage Accounts Receivable, Wires, and Reversals.
• Period-End Activities: Actively contribute to comprehensive monthly and quarterly tax processing and reconciliation efforts, playing a key role in the overall Month End closing process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics, or demonstrably relevant experience specifically in multi-state tax filings.
• Experience: Possess a good working knowledge of established accounting practices and current tax laws. Prior professional work experience as a tax accountant, tax analyst, or tax preparer is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specialized tax systems, and database software. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Bonus: Exhibit the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Capable of working effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating the capacity to lead several processes. Display strong attention to detail in all tasks.
