The Tone:
This is a full-time role at The Ned & Ned’s Club, located in Washington, DC. The Ned & Ned’s Club operates a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants. This role is crucial for supporting the company’s financial goals by providing comprehensive accounting assistance across various departments, guests, and vendors. The Staff Accountant ensures accuracy and completeness in financial operations through a flexible, cross-trained approach.

• Mission: Support the Finance team by rotating across income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash handling, and general ledger activities to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Income Audit & Revenue: Perform the daily income audit and reconcile all revenue streams, verifying accuracy between systems.
• Accounts Payable: Ensure invoices and payments are processed correctly according to company procedures, coordinating with the Purchasing Manager.
• Accounts Receivable & Chargebacks: Manage accounts receivable, including accurate invoicing, billing, aging review, and resolving account discrepancies.
• Month End & General Ledger: Support the month-end closing process by reconciling the checkbook, vendor statements, and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Team & Cross-Functional Support: Champion accounting policies, collaborate with departments on projects, and support colleagues across the Finance team as business needs evolve.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in a professional environment.
• Skills: Capable of managing a variety of tasks and prioritizing effectively; flexibility and willingness to be cross-trained across multiple accounting functions; team focused with an understanding of how to contribute to the bigger picture.
• Bonus: Previous experience across accounting functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, or income audit) within the hospitality industry.
