This Staff Accountant position is critical for the accounting team, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial systems, supporting customer contracts, invoice creation, and the maintenance of accounting documentation related to revenue recognition. The role helps foster continued growth and operational excellence by supporting the team of engineers and finance professionals.

• Mission: This person will ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s accounting systems and processes, assist in maintaining the accounting system through analysis of customer contracts, and support the creation of invoices, credits, revenue arrangements, and journal entries.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive revenue month-end close reports by conducting thorough analysis of project billing and associated costs.
• Close Processes: Support the overarching month-end and year-end close procedures, including the preparation of detailed monthly reports covering projects, collections, billings, contracts, and Work in Process (WIP) reporting.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile and balance various general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Audit and Compliance: Participate actively in the annual audit and quarterly review procedures, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of all required documentation for external auditors, and contribute to the implementation of internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Operational Support: Maintain and oversee the company’s lease and fleet management programs, and contribute to various ad hoc projects as assigned by the team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should possess core domain knowledge in accounting principles, with a particular emphasis on financial analysis and research capabilities.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of general accounting experience is required, specifically including active participation in the month-end close process.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong Excel proficiency, the ability to rapidly learn and effectively utilize ERP systems and in-house developed systems, outstanding attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and timely adherence to deadlines. This role also requires a customer service-oriented approach with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred for this position.
