Staff Accountant | Mach Industries

This Staff Accountant role is crucial for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records across the organization, directly contributing to the company’s vision of redefining the future of warfare through innovation at speed.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Enter and organize comprehensive financial data within QuickBooks and other internal accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness for all transactions.
• Process: Support all aspects of accounts payable, including thorough invoice review, accurate coding to appropriate accounts, and effective coordination with vendors to ensure timely payments.
• Reconcile: Assist diligently with various account reconciliations, meticulous expense reporting, and precise transaction verification to uphold financial integrity.
• Report: Provide critical support for monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities, contributing to the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
• Track: Monitor and track detailed project costs, allocated labor charges, and all program-related financial activity to ensure robust financial oversight.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, demonstrating a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience: 1+ years of accounting experience, including internships or entry-level finance roles, with familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, strong written and verbal communication, ability to work independently while collaborating across teams, ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, and a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Bonus: Experience supporting finance or accounting operations within government contracting, aerospace, manufacturing, or defense environments, familiarity with DCAA, FAR, or government accounting practices, exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or project cost tracking, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
