The Tone:
This is a full-time role within Trilogy Health Services, a dedicated senior living provider committed to being the premier healthcare company in the Midwest. This Campus GL Accountant position is integral to the Campus Accounting team, which is responsible for the precise accounting and reporting across Trilogy’s extensive health campus portfolio. The individual in this role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by meticulously verifying financial records and preparing comprehensive reports for a dedicated subset of campuses.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Team: The Campus Accounting team of Trilogy Health Services, responsible for the accounting and reporting for Trilogy’s health campus portfolio.
• Mission: To accurately maintain, analyze, and verify financial records, and prepare financial and statistical reports for assigned campuses, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and accurately post journal entries, ensuring each entry is supported by appropriate and thorough documentation.
• Account Reconciliation: Conduct monthly analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Review: Systematically review financial statements for the proper accounting treatment of all revenue and expense items, providing thoughtful and insightful commentary on historical financial performance trends and variances to budget.
• Leadership Engagement: Proactively engage with both campus and home office leadership to discuss monthly financial results, respond to inquiries in a timely manner, and clearly communicate items that impact overall financial outcomes.
• Process Improvement: Actively participate in and contribute to process efficiency projects by bringing innovative ideas to the team, undertaking special projects as needed, and maintaining a solution-oriented mindset to enhance operational effectiveness.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the implementation of internal controls within an organization compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in accounting or a related financial role.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability in preparing and posting journal entries, thorough analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, critical review of financial statements, and effective communication of financial results to various stakeholders.
• Bonus: A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is preferred.
