Staff Accountant | Continental

• Mission: This person ensures accurate and timely financial reporting by managing daily, monthly, and year-end accounting processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
Financial Closing Management: Manage and assist with both month-end and year-end financial close processes, including the preparation of assigned journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Daily Reconciliations: Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash positioning and financial data integrity.
Analytical Reporting: Generate ad hoc financial reports using accounting software as requested, providing critical data for internal stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Audit Support: Contribute to special projects aimed at process improvements and efficiency, while also responding to information requests and assisting with internal and external audits.
Cross-functional Teamwork: Actively collaborate with team members both within the accounting department and with other departments to achieve shared financial and operational objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional possessing foundational knowledge in general accounting principles and practices.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience is required, which can include practical experience gained through internships or more junior accounting roles.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with common accounting software platforms and strong command of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Core Competencies: Possesses strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills, coupled with an unwavering focus on details. A strong drive and ambition to achieve results, alongside a motivation to learn new processes, adapt to change, and readily accept coaching and feedback, are essential for professional development and contributing to organizational goals.
