Staff Accountant | Career Strategies

The Staff Accountant ensures the smooth execution of accounts receivable, treasury functions, and compliance tasks, directly impacting the financial health and operational efficiency of multiple business divisions. This role is fundamental to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various audit and legal processes, requiring a precise and dedicated individual.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable Management: Provide comprehensive support for accounts receivable functions across the Corporate, Commercial, and Residential divisions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Intercompany Financial Processing: Efficiently process corporate billbacks, meticulously track management fees, and coordinate property reimbursements to ensure precise financial allocations and intercompany settlements.
• Treasury Operations and Compliance: Execute wire transfers accurately, assist diligently with year-end filing of tax withholding forms, and support broader treasury relationships and functions to maintain financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Legal Entity Administration: Take responsibility for forming new legal entities as needed and performing ongoing maintenance of existing entities, ensuring all corporate structures are properly managed and recorded.
• Audit and Tax Support: Actively assist with the property tax appeal process and contribute to various audits, including external financial reviews, 401K compliance audits, and worker’s compensation assessments, providing necessary documentation and support.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional with an accounting degree preferred, ready to apply foundational accounting principles.
• Experience: 0-1 year of accounting experience.
• Skills: Demonstrated detail orientation, excellent communication skills, and strong business ethics are required for this role.
• Bonus: Prior knowledge of Yardi and advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also be self-motivated, personable, and a collaborative team player who thrives in an active work setting.
