Staff Accountant | 6 Degrees Group

The Tone:
This is a 12–18 month development program at 6 Degrees Group. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience across the entire spectrum of property accounting, covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting functions. It offers an excellent opportunity for early-career accounting professionals to build a broad foundational understanding before specializing.

• Mission: To provide foundational, hands-on experience across all core property accounting functions.
• Tech Stack: Yardi (exposure a plus), Excel, Microsoft Office products

What You’ll Actually Do
• Experience Building: Gain hands-on experience across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger/financial reporting functions within property accounting.
• Assignment Management: Take on shifting assignments and responsibilities to build exposure across each functional area during the development period.
• Task Support: Support the team with various accounting tasks that require strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with property accounting and operations teams, adapting to changing responsibilities as needed.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within accounting workflows and suggest enhancements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required (any field, Accounting is preferred but not mandatory); an early-career accounting professional.
• Experience: 0–1 year of accounting experience, which can include internships or entry-level roles.
• Skills: Strong understanding of, or demonstrated aptitude for, generally accepted accounting principles; proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products; comfortable with ambiguity and evolving responsibilities; strong attention to detail; critical thinking; proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Bonus: Commercial real estate or Yardi exposure is a plus.
