Staff Accountant | Atrium
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Atrium. This position supports the organization’s daily accounting and financial operations. The Staff Accountant is critical for maintaining accurate financial records, managing essential accounts, and contributing to timely close processes. This role ensures the financial integrity necessary for the organization’s smooth functioning and compliance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Financial Closing Support: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
• Record Keeping: Perform daily cash reconciliations, maintain accurate financial records, and administer credit card expense reporting, vendor setup, and customer account maintenance.
• Tax and Compliance: Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, maintain business registrations, and support audits, financial reporting, and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with internal teams and assist with special accounting projects as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms is required.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Accounting experience within the construction industry, familiarity with specific accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, SL, or Dynamics, and experience with construction accounting software like Procore or Viewpoint, are preferred. Experience with financial analysis, audits, and tax compliance activities is also a plus.
