Staff Accountant | IEX
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at IEX, located in New York, United States. IEX is an exchange operator and technology company founded in 2012, dedicated to innovating for performance in capital markets by combining a transparent business model with unique architecture designed to protect investors. The Staff Accountant will provide essential support across financial operations, playing a key role in the company’s financial stability and growth, particularly with the upcoming launch of its innovative Options Exchange in October 2026. This position is critical for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting cross-functional teams.

• Mission: Owns accounts payable, cash and banking support, general accounting support, and accounts receivable to ensure efficient and accurate financial processes.
• Tech Stack: Zip AP platform, Ramp platform, Avalara, NetSuite, Concur
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Process and verify invoices using the Zip AP platform, manage employee expenses and reimbursements within Ramp, and conduct sales and use tax reconciliation using Avalara.
• Cash and Banking: Monitor daily bank and clearing firm deposit balances, record cash activity in the general ledger, and prepare vendor payments in the banking platform.
• Accounts Receivable: Prepare and distribute customer invoices, apply cash receipts against open invoices in NetSuite, and execute collection procedures for non-payment.
• Accounting Support: Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by recording journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and participating in audits.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of analysis and reporting.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience: One or more years of experience and/or training in a relevant field.
• Skills: Proficient user of Excel, including Pivot tables, V-lookup, Count, and Sum functions; strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to solve practical problems effectively.
• Bonus: Experience with NetSuite, Concur, Zip, Ramp, and/or Avalara.
