What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is included.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Financial Closings: Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain fixed asset and prepaid account records, including the calculation of depreciation and amortization.
• Audit Support: Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation required for audits.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, such as Business with an Accounting concentration.
• Experience: Up to 2 years of general accounting experience, which can include internships, co-ops, or academic research roles.
• Skills: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, excellent attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite) or progress towards CPA certification.
