Staff Accountant | University of Notre Dame

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at the University of Notre Dame, located in Notre Dame, Indiana, with the possibility of working remotely up to two days a week after an initial training period. What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile: Perform a variety of account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Support: Provide essential fiscal year-end audit and tax preparation support to the finance team.
• Manage: Oversee and manage daily incoming cash, including posting receipts and ensuring optimal functionality of Treasury Management software.
• Process: Prepare and review journal entries, set up non-grant restricted funds, and maintain orderly files and workpapers for audit trails.
• Assist: Provide support and guidance to campus departments on accounting procedures and the Banner financial system.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong background in auditing coursework.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of professional experience in accounting or a related financial role.
• Skills: High comfort level with technology, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, a strong accounting background, attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: CPA certification or a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
