The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Atlantic Group, located in Philadelphia, PA, supporting their client, a multi-entity real estate organization. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting general ledger activities, facilitating month-end close processes, and contributing to the overall financial health of a high-performing division. This role provides an opportunity to collaborate with accounting leadership and operational teams in a focused, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Accounting: Prepare accurate journal entries, meticulously maintain general ledger accounts, and provide essential support for all monthly accounting activities and reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation and thorough analysis of monthly financial statements, budgets, and various supporting accounting reports to ensure clarity and accuracy.
• Account Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, carefully review financial data for discrepancies, and proactively resolve any accounting issues that arise.
• Budget & Expense Analysis: Support the tracking of budgets, conduct detailed revenue and expense analysis, and prepare reports related to both operational and financial performance.
• Audit Support: Assist with audit preparation by gathering and organizing supporting documentation, and coordinate effectively with both internal and external auditors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, along with a foundational understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and core accounting operations.
• Experience: Requires 1–3 years of professional experience in general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, or comprehensive bookkeeping functions.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, coupled with a solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Bonus: Prior experience within the real estate industry is preferred, as is familiarity with Yardi, RealPage, or similar specialized accounting software.
