KPB Sr Fiduciary Strategist | KeyBanc Capital Markets

• Mission: Deliver the KPB fiduciary mandate to ensure consistent advisory delivery while managing fiduciary risk.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Fiduciary Advice: Lead the delivery of fiduciary advice as part of client servicing and execution of the client experience, fulfilling Key’s fiduciary responsibilities with utmost adherence to all internal policies, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Client Relationship Management: Develop a strong understanding of family relationships and the needs of current clients as well as beneficiaries, retaining and deepening these relationships, including with the next generation.
• Estate and Tax Planning: Analyze and interpret legal instruments to determine bank duties and responsibilities, providing well-coordinated estate, tax, and financial planning alternatives to meet client needs, and facilitating the estate, tax, and philanthropic planning process.
• Risk and Compliance: Identify any potential trust and estate tax-related issues, working with clients and external advisors to resolve them, and assuming accountability for all delegated fiduciary administrative work on assigned accounts while mitigating risk.
• Business Development & Collaboration: Proactively collaborate with team members and external client advisors (attorneys, accountants) to build insights and solutions to attract, retain, and grow client relationships, identifying Investment Management and Trust Opportunities, and actively participating in pricing conversations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior level professional responsible for client advisory services, with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. This role requires a strong foundation in providing tax or legal services to ultra-affluent business owners regarding trust and fiduciary matters, as well as experience in trust administration or fiduciary advisory services.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of required client advisory experience to ultra-affluent business owners, coupled with demonstrated fiduciary experience and direct experience working with high-net-worth clients.
• Skills: Proven ability to lead relationship development and engagement for beneficiaries; deep awareness of state-specific estate and tax planning issues; strong expertise in fiduciary, investment, and tax-related wealth issues, maintained through continuous education; and the ability to anticipate and mitigate risk on assigned accounts with a proactive, disciplined approach.
• Bonus: Master’s Degree, JD, or other advanced degree is preferred, as are certifications such as CPA, LLM, CTFA, and/or CFP. Demonstrated agility working with local Private Banking Teams, Commercial Bankers, and Investment Bankers is also a plus.
