This role is for a Specialty Pharmacy Intern Pharmacist, designed for pharmacy students seeking practical experience within a specialized healthcare setting.

Role Overview:
The Intern Pharmacist supports both the clinical and operational functions of the specialty pharmacy, working directly under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position aims to provide hands-on experience in managing specialty medications and high-risk patient populations.

Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:
– Gaining practical experience in specialty medication management.
– Participating in patient care coordination for complex chronic conditions.
– Providing high-touch pharmacy services for patients with conditions such as oncology, multiple sclerosis, hepatitis C, rheumatoid arthritis, and other complex chronic conditions.
– Involvement in the operations of a URAC/ACHC-accredited specialty pharmacy.
– Developing and enhancing skills in interprofessional collaboration.

Schedule:
The schedule is designed to be flexible to accommodate academic commitments. There is a potential for full-time hours during summer or academic breaks for interested interns. The shift rotation is a Day Rotation.

Education Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited Pharmacy program.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Pharmacy Intern Licensure with their respective state Board of Pharmacy, or be eligible to work as an intern in the state where they will be employed.
– For North Dakota (ND): Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Intern through the ND Board of Pharmacy.
– For Minnesota (MN): Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Intern through the MN Board of Pharmacy.
– For Wisconsin (WI): Completion of the 2nd year of a Pharmacy program is required; no state registration is mandated for intern work in Wisconsin.

Compensation:
The compensation for this intern position is $20.00 – $20.00 per hour.
