The Opportunity: Solutions Engineer Intern, Summer 2026

As a Solutions Engineer Intern, you will be a critical bridge between our cutting-edge products and the diverse needs of our clients and partners. This role offers a unique blend of technical depth, client engagement, and product influence, enabling you to make a significant contribution to their success on TikTok.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client & Partner Engagement: Develop, cultivate, and manage strong technical relationships with our valued customers’ and partners’ engineering and product staff. Proactively manage and drive joint engineering roadmaps, ensuring alignment and successful execution.
• Business Opportunity Identification: Collaborate closely with our sales partners to meticulously identify and understand advertisers’ specific business goals, translating them into actionable technical opportunities for growth on the TikTok platform.
• Innovative Solution Development: Be instrumental in building and shipping novel products, as well as crafting bespoke, end-to-end customized solutions. Work in tight collaboration with our dedicated Ads product engineering teams to bring these solutions to life.
• Product Roadmap Influence: Leverage your insights and client feedback to actively influence the future roadmap of product development, ensuring that our offerings continuously evolve to solve critical business challenges and meet market demands.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Demonstrated experience in shipping production-quality code, showcasing your ability to build robust and reliable software.
• Familiarity and practical experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Python, Go, Java, C/C++.
• Exceptional ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven capability to collaborate effectively with various sized stakeholder groups, both internally within TikTok and externally with clients and partners.
• Demonstrable knowledge of API design principles and backend systems architecture.
• Must be able to commit to a full-time, 12-week work period during Summer 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working effectively within cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills.
• A solutions-oriented mindset, coupled with robust problem-solving abilities and practical development experience.
• A good collaborator and team player, comfortable thriving in a fast-moving, culturally diverse, and globally distributed team environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly Compensation Range (Campus Intern):

For this position in the selected city, the hourly rate range is typically $45 – $60. This range reflects our commitment to attracting top talent and may vary based on location and other factors.

We are dedicated to supporting our interns’ well-being and success. Interns receive day-one access to a robust suite of benefits, including health insurance, life insurance, and various wellbeing programs. Additionally, interns receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 hours if hired in the second half of the year). For interns who are not working 100% remote, eligibility for a housing allowance may also apply to support your relocation and living costs.
