Technical Program Management Intern | Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies
The Tone:
This is an internship at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, located in Irvine, CA. As a joint venture between two industry leaders, the company is dedicated to defining automotive’s next chapter by developing technology that sets the standards for software-defined electric vehicles. This role is essential for helping to bring to life the next generation of vehicles by taking a leading role in managing the complex integration of hardware and software. Your contributions will directly support software deliverables for critical program milestones.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Planning: Assist technical teams in scoping and planning test asset needs using a systems engineering approach.
• Prioritization: Support the prioritization of components for test assets based on software delivery milestones, technical risk, and complexity.
• Integration: Aid in software-hardware integration efforts across the organization during development activities.
• Coordination: Help to coordinate verification test plans.
• Tracking: Track and help to drive technical issues to closure within the software organization.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited US university, actively pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Experience with Software Development Lifecycle; Experience with Systems Engineering principles; Experience with test and validation.
• Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python; Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Bonus: Experience in Agile and Waterfall development processes using Jira and other program management tools; Understanding of hardware/software bring-up of distributed systems, managing project dependencies, and negotiating parallel activities to optimize project execution; Intent to return to school following completion of internship.
