Software Quality Assurance Intern | MedLaunch
The Tone:
This is an internship at MedLaunch, where we are building a transformative healthcare accreditation platform. Our platform leverages cutting-edge technology and healthcare domain expertise to revolutionize how hospitals manage compliance, quality improvement, and regulatory processes nationwide. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by working directly with our engineering team on a production healthcare platform. You will be given full-time responsibilities from day one, making real contributions that impact our product and customers, with the clear goal for interns to convert to full-time employees.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Application Quality Assurance: Design and execute comprehensive manual test plans across web applications, APIs, and integrations, specifically identifying bugs and validating healthcare compliance features like HIPAA and audit trails.
• Test Automation Development: Build and maintain automated test suites using modern frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing, integrating them into continuous testing pipelines with CI/CD.
• AI/ML Model Validation: Collaborate with the AI team to design test datasets, validate machine learning models for healthcare document extraction, and analyze performance and data quality.
• Data Quality Engineering: Develop and implement data quality monitoring processes, including automated integrity checks for MongoDB systems, and support ETL pipeline testing and validation.
• QA Strategy & Improvement: Analyze existing QA processes, research and recommend new testing tools and methodologies, and contribute to technical decision-making and sprint planning to optimize quality assurance practices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
• Experience: Practical experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and basic knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and API testing. Previous internship or project experience in QA or testing roles is beneficial.
• Skills: Python, JavaScript, SQL, Selenium, MongoDB, Git.
• Bonus: Knowledge of healthcare IT, compliance requirements, or regulated industries, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and DevOps practices, or experience with data analysis, ETL processes, or machine learning.
