Software QA Automation Intern | LuMATH
The Tone:
This is an internship at LuMATH, located remotely with a flexible schedule. LuMATH is developing Nova, a next-generation intelligence architecture designed to support reasoning, memory, testing, and human-AI collaboration. This role is critical for ensuring Nova’s reliability, quality, and proper behavior as its complex, modular Python-based system grows. You will contribute meaningfully by helping to test and improve this intricate system, gaining hands-on experience with real software and AI-assisted development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Test Development: Develop and implement various types of tests, including unit and integration tests, for Nova using Python.
• Test Automation: Automate testing processes and conduct thorough regression testing to maintain system stability as the codebase expands.
• Debugging and Tracking: Identify, debug, and track errors in failed tests, ensuring timely resolution and continuous system improvement.
• Code Quality: Contribute to enhancing code quality through checks and documenting test results to maintain clear records of system behavior.
• AI-Assisted Workflows: Utilize an AI coding agent to build, improve, and streamline testing workflows within the intelligence architecture.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student interested in software quality assurance, automation, AI systems, or intelligent tools, with the ability to commit to approximately 5 months.
• Experience: At least one year of Python programming experience, demonstrated by the successful creation of an original software project, tool, app, automation, script, prototype, or system.
• Skills: Ability to read and understand complex Python code; a strong interest in testing, debugging, and software quality; and a willingness to learn quickly and work carefully.
• Bonus: A meticulous attention to detail, enjoyment in finding and understanding why things fail, a proactive desire to improve systems, and enthusiasm for AI-assisted development and building new technology in an early-stage startup environment.
