Software Engineer Intern – 2026 Summer | TikTok

The Tone:
This is a temporary, seasonal internship at TikTok for Summer 2026. TikTok is a global technology company known for its leading short-form mobile video platform, inspiring creativity and bringing joy to millions of users worldwide. This role is crucial for an engineering organization that constantly iterates and innovates, building the core technologies that power TikTok’s user experiences. As a General Hire position, candidates will be considered for various teams within TikTok Engineering, primarily under the Short Video organization.

• Team: Short Video organization within TikTok Engineering (General Hire across multiple sub-teams like PGC, Open Platform, Search, Social, User Growth, Intelligent Creation)
• Mission: Build and scale cutting-edge technologies that power TikTok’s short-form video ecosystem, from creation tools to social interactions.
• Tech Stack: Python, Java, Golang, C#, or C++

What You’ll Actually Do
• Feature Development: Build new features that will be used by hundreds of millions of people globally.
• Problem Solving: Address unique, large-scale, and highly complex technical challenges within the TikTok platform.
• Technical Collaboration: Actively participate in technical discussions related to the team’s product and engineering efforts.
• Core Technology Contribution: Contribute to building and scaling essential technologies for areas such as video creation, editing, immersive playback, and user discovery.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026, with demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
• Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Golang, C#, or C++.
• Bonus: High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.
