Software Engineer Intern (Payment Network) – Global Payment – 2026 Summer(BS/MS) | ByteDance

The Tone:

The company’s Global Payment team provides essential payment solutions, including acquisitions, disbursements, and transaction monitoring, to ensure a smooth and secure user experience across ByteDance platforms. This role is vital within the Payment Network team, focusing on building and optimizing secure, professional, and efficient overseas payment solutions that facilitate global business and product expansion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design & Architecture: Develop high-quality software design and architecture.
• Development Cycle: Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks throughout the software development life cycle.
• Coding: Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code.
• Automation & Testing: Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting, and perform validation and verification testing.
• Collaboration & Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to fix and improve products.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Master’s degree.
• Experience: Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, or Python. Excellent proficiency in backend server development and expertise in relational databases. Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Strong analytical thinking and exceptional attention to detail.
• Bonus: Relevant internship experience with hands-on exposure to the tech stack. Basic understanding of the payment industry and risk vendors.
