The Tone:
This is a Summer internship program at TikTok. The company is a leading destination for short-form mobile video, dedicated to inspiring creativity and bringing joy to its global community. This role is within the Ads Measurement Signal and Privacy (MSP) team, which is missioned to build the security and governance infrastructure and processes for the ads system end-to-end. The team ensures that TikTok’s platform, handling a large volume of various signals and data, remains constantly compliant with regional regulations worldwide. A core focus is exploring and implementing cutting-edge privacy-enhancing technologies to protect users while fostering TikTok as a free and creative community. As an intern, you will play a key role in data privacy, protection, security, and managing cross-functional programs to continuously improve these processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build: Develop various products to manage signal integration, data insights, and third-party data partner integrations, utilizing cutting-edge in-house solutions.
• Design: Create, build, and maintain scalable and future-proof technical foundations for effective data collection and quality assurance.
• Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, data scientists, UX, and compliance to continually enhance comprehensive measurement strategies.
• Lead: Drive the development of products and processes to effectively address urgent business needs.
• Explore: Identify, research, and implement cutting-edge measurement technologies to advance platform capabilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, demonstrating foundational academic knowledge in the field.
• Experience: Possess strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, which is critical for developing efficient and scalable solutions.
• Skills: Proficient in at least one coding language, such as Go, Javascript, Java, or C++; exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities; demonstrate strong ownership of projects and an outstanding capability to analyze and solve complex problems; and maintain curiosity towards new technologies and solutions.
• Bonus: Previous working experience within the advertising domain is preferred. Additionally, experience with measurement technologies like Web/App tracking, SKAN, PCM, MMP, or Privacy Sandbox, particularly with practical production experience, is highly valued.
