Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2026) | StarSling (YC X25)

The Tone:
StarSling builds self-driving CI with AI agents, automating annoying developer tasks. You will work directly with experienced co-founders to deliver a single project to customers. This role offers hands-on experience in shaping the next dev tools category leader.

• Role: Software Engineer Intern
• Team: Reports directly to co-founder Daniel; works with co-founder Yonas.
• Mission: Deliver a single, customer-facing project end-to-end that customers will use in production.
• Tech Stack: GitHub Actions, AI agents, Claude Code, Cursor

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Ownership: Deliver a single project from end-to-end, ensuring customers use it in production.
• Agent Development: Improve our close-loop optimization harness, including MCP, tool use, and feedback.
• Product Experience: Create agent-first product experiences through APIs, CLIs, and Markdown interfaces.
• Platform Design: Design schemas and event flows to power a real-time personalized engineering portal.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated track record of autonomy as a 0-to-1 builder.
• Experience: Public GitHub project (not a fork) built end-to-end, ideally used by people.
• Skills: Comfort with ambiguity, rapid context-switching, and using codegen tools.
