Software Engineer Intern | The Trade Desk

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Ownership: Take full ownership of a meaningful project, from its inception to deployment, aiming to create something substantial that makes a positive impact for the team, reflecting the company’s strong belief in individual ownership.
• Mentorship: Benefit from dedicated one-on-one mentorship, receiving guidance and support from an experienced software engineer throughout your internship.
• Global Collaboration: Actively engage and collaborate with a diverse and globally connected team, including other engineers, fellow interns, and various departments across cities worldwide.
• Technical Exploration: Engage with and explore new technologies spanning a wide spectrum of computer science, such as distributed systems, petabyte-scale data processing, machine learning/AI, and user interface/user experience development.
• Design and Implementation: Be responsible for the architectural design, strategic planning, and hands-on implementation of the project you are building, fostering a sense of complete ownership.

The Must-Haves
• Educational Status: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, with an expected graduation date between Autumn 2026 and Summer 2027.
• Core Competencies: Possess a firm grasp of basic data structures and algorithmic techniques, coupled with fluency in one or more modern object-oriented programming languages.
• Learning Style: Demonstrate qualities of a quick and self-directed learner, prepared to take significant ownership over the design, planning, and implementation phases of projects.
• On-Site Presence: Must be available to work three days in person at the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the specified North American location.
