About Google’s Content Safety On Device Team
The Content Safety On Device team at Google is dedicated to building a safer online experience for all users. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the technology that protects users from harmful content.
The Core Team at Google is the foundation behind its flagship products. This team owns and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure that drive innovation across all Google products. They build central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems to create seamless, safe, and coherent experiences for users.
What You’ll Do:
As a Software Engineer on the Content Safety On Device team, you will be responsible for:
• Designing, developing, productionizing, and maintaining features for Google’s content safety offerings.
• Defining the scope of complex problems and designing and implementing efficient solutions to enable client use cases.
• Collaborating closely with other sub-teams located in the Bay Area.
• Traveling internationally as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in C++ and Kotlin, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 years of education or industry experience with mobile or multi-platform development.
• Experience in Android development, back-end infrastructure or security.
• Experience in Kotlin or Unix/Posix operating systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
