What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to deeply understand the most significant challenges faced by WEX customers.
• Development: Design, test, code, and instrument new solutions, taking them from concept through to deployment.
• Process Enhancement: Strengthen engineering processes by championing Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Microservice, and Vertical Slice Architectures.
• System Reliability: Support live applications, promoting proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and continuous improvement to ensure system reliability.
• Expertise & Mentorship: Analyze existing systems and processes to identify improvements, become a subject matter expert in your functional area, and mentor peers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Mid-career level.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of writing comprehensive unit tests and test suites. Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on schedule.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Angular and/or React; experience building and consuming REST APIs, particularly ASP.NET RESTful API design; proficiency with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines; experience in writing performant stored procedures and functions for modern RDBMS (MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL); experience in developing Cloud-Native applications and services utilizing C# and Docker; strong understanding of software security principles and OWASP guidelines; experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes, Helm/ArgoCD, Terraform, GitHub Actions, NoSQL databases, GraphQL, or Azure.
