Description: Software Developer, Network/Payload Software — Intern (Spring 2025)

This is a 12-week, hourly internship for currently enrolled four-year university students. The role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to challenging projects, with past interns having even designed and tested hardware/software for launch. Many previous interns have transitioned into full-time positions at Astranis.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the engineering team.
• Design, write, and test software (for satellites, ground control, and testing).
• Develop software to manage satellite performance from ground stations.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or a related technical field.
• Experience with C++, Python, and scripting languages.
• Proven ability to independently design, write, and test software.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card. (This is due to U.S. Government space technology export regulations.)

Bonus Points:

• Experience with RF and signal processing.
• Experience with real-time operating systems.

Compensation: $29.00 per hour. Applicants who do not meet all requirements are still encouraged to apply. Graduates should apply for the Associate Engineer position instead.
