About the Role
This is a Social Media & Operations Intern role supporting day-to-day social media activities and providing administrative and operational assistance to the executive team. The position spans both areas with a shifting balance based on team needs, requiring someone comfortable reliably supporting both the digital presence and internal operations of a small, fast-moving team.
What You’ll Do
• Assist with posting content across social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
• Monitor comments, messages, and basic engagement on social media channels.
• Help format and schedule posts using simple tools or platforms.
• Support the team with basic content updates and edits.
• Maintain consistent posting and activity across channels.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the executive team with basic office coordination tasks.
• Assist with document preparation, formatting, and file organization.
• Support internal operations and assist with special projects as assigned.
• Maintain organized records and assist with logistics as needed.
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are a current college student with a strong interest or area of study in communications, marketing, business, or a related field.
• Have experience with social media platforms and ability to engage an audience.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Are highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
• Are proficient in Google Workspace and basic office tools.
• Have working knowledge of basic social media and scheduling tools.
• Must be based in the Charleston, SC area.
• Are willing to provide residency information to verify eligibility for SBA HUBZone certification requirements.
• Are reliable and consistent with completing assigned tasks.
• Have a willingness to learn and take direction.
• Have a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
• Have basic writing and proofreading skills.
Bonus Qualifications
• Have familiarity or strong interest in military culture, terminology, and tone; background or exposure to military or special operations communities strongly preferred.
• Have ROTC participation or background.
• Have the ability to match tone and voice for a defense and national security audience.
Role Highlights & Compensation
• $15 per hour base compensation.
• Paid internship position working approximately 40 hours per month.
• Company is based in the Charleston, SC area.
• Hybrid work arrangement negotiable for local candidates after initial onboarding.
• Preference will be given to candidates who meet HUBZone residency criteria.
