New Media Intern | Nucleus
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Nucleus, with an ideal location in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY. Flexible remote work is also possible. Nucleus is a firm engaged with top investors, founders, and technical builders across AI, infrastructure, and venture capital, and seeks to develop its media presence. This role is crucial for establishing Nucleus’s content engine, particularly by supporting “The Rise” podcast, and will involve working directly with the founder to capture insights and craft compelling stories for a key audience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Curation: Clip and package key podcast moments from “The Rise” for effective distribution across various platforms.
• Video Production: Transform raw podcast footage into clean, engaging short-form clips suitable for social media.
• Social Publishing: Draft compelling social posts and short-form content specifically for X, Substack, and LinkedIn audiences.
• System Building: Design and implement simple systems that enhance and streamline future publishing and storytelling efforts.
• Rhythm Management: Maintain and support a steady, consistent cadence of content publishing and overall media output for Nucleus.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student with a strong interest in venture capital, artificial intelligence, and the individuals shaping future technologies.
• Experience: Proven savviness on social media, demonstrating a natural understanding of effective content on platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Substack, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram. Curiosity about the world of tech storytelling, creator culture, and venture media is essential.
• Skills: Strong writing instincts with meticulous attention to detail, recognizing that every pixel matters. High agency, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and an eagerness to learn close to the action. The ability to work remotely, stay organized, and drive tasks forward without constant supervision.
• Bonus: Previous experience in clipping podcasts, managing a niche social media account, or regularly posting thoughtful threads about technology. Interest in specific media communities like a16z New Media Fellowship, Pirate Wires, or Rostra.
