Intern, Social Media | St. Louis Blues
The Tone:
This is a season-long paid internship at St. Louis Blues, located in St. Louis, MO. The St. Louis Blues is a professional NHL team dedicated to engaging its fanbase and building a strong online presence. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the team’s digital footprint, providing a foundational experience for a career in digital media or marketing. Interns will be instrumental in crafting fun and engaging content, supporting various organizational projects from live games to ticket initiatives and community outreach events. This position provides invaluable hands-on experience in the world of professional sports and digital media.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal, Part-time (up to 29 hours per week)
• Location: In-person, St. Louis, MO
• Team: Supports the digital team, collaborating with marketing, sponsorship, sales, retail, game entertainment, and community relations.
• Mission: To create and implement engaging social media content that helps craft the online presence of an NHL team and supports various organizational initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Adobe Creative Suite (experience with is a plus), Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Ideate, create, and implement engaging social media content, including but not limited to photos, graphics, GIFs, and videos, for diverse organizational needs.
• Platform Exploration: Provide input and ideation for content development on emerging social media platforms, with a particular focus on TikTok trends and features.
• Event Support: Support the digital team’s efforts throughout the season by creating and implementing content for gamedays, promotions, theme nights, and special events.
• Idea Generation: Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize, develop, and pitch innovative ideas for social media campaigns, website features, or video content.
• Fan Engagement: Assist with day-to-day account monitoring and moderation across all platforms, providing timely and professional customer service to fans.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing or recently graduated with an interest in a future career in digital media or marketing, demonstrating an innovative and creative mindset with a keen eye for engaging content that resonates with fans.
• Experience: Proven knowledge of core social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, along with an active interest in identifying and understanding emerging platforms.
• Skills: Strong written communication skills essential for crafting clear and compelling messages; robust verbal communication skills for effective teamwork and presentations; exceptional attention to detail in content creation and account management; and the ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including game days, nights, and weekends.
• Bonus: Preferred academic background in Communications, Digital Media, or Journalism; experience with photography, videography, and Adobe Creative Suite.
