Bookrata aims to prevent readers from wasting hours on a book only to put it down due to an unexpected scene or situation, thereby enhancing their reading experience.

About the job:
The role is for a Social Media Intern at a dynamic tech startup. This is an unpaid internship requiring approximately 20 hours per week.

The intern will have a unique opportunity to build Bookrata’s social media presence from the ground up across key platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and X. This pivotal role involves developing the brand’s online identity, growing its audience, and establishing strategic partnerships with influencers. The internship offers invaluable hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to build a new social media following, focusing on audience growth and engagement.
• Creating and scheduling engaging, platform-specific content such as short-form videos, graphics, and compelling captions that align with the brand voice and target audience.
• Conducting in-depth research to identify and connect with relevant industry influencers and micro-influencers, and crafting effective outreach strategies for authentic partnerships.
• Managing and growing social media accounts, which includes monitoring interactions, and responding promptly and professionally to comments and direct messages.
• Analyzing social media performance metrics to gauge effectiveness and inform future strategies.
• Brainstorming and researching original content ideas, trending topics, and viral challenges to maintain fresh and relevant content.
• Assisting in the creation of content calendars and ensuring consistency in brand messaging across all channels.
• Collaborating with the marketing team on live events and online campaigns to maximize social media impact.

Qualifications required:
• Current enrollment in a college or university program, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
• A genuine passion for reading, books, and consumer choice.
• Demonstrated passion for social media trends and platforms, with a strong personal presence on Instagram, TikTok, and/or X.
• Proven ability to create compelling content, including writing engaging captions and producing short-form video content.
• Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later) and analytics platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail and brand consistency.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive, “doer” attitude.
