Social Media & Brand Marketing Intern | Y2
The Tone:
This is a flexible, unpaid internship at Y2. While Y2 is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, this role is open to remote applicants, with a preference for those located in California. Y2 is an e-commerce and lifestyle brand focused on thoughtfully selected products across fashion, technology, gaming, hi-fi audio, and design. The company aims to build a new kind of destination, blending style, performance, and culture, inspired by early-2000s aesthetics and today’s creator economy. This role is crucial for helping to launch and grow Y2’s online presence, allowing a motivated student to contribute ideas, develop creative content, and gain hands-on experience in branding, digital marketing, and retail operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instagram Management: Help launch Y2’s Instagram presence from the ground up and actively manage its ongoing content.
• Graphic Creation: Create engaging promotional graphics for various campaigns and announcements using design tools like Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms.
• Product Coordination: Coordinate product listings for the e-commerce site and assist with the organization and execution of new product launches.
• Content Planning: Contribute to the creation of compelling social media captions and assist in planning comprehensive content calendars across platforms.
• Campaign Ideation: Brainstorm creative campaigns, specific product announcements, and seasonal promotions to drive engagement and brand awareness.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A current high school, community college, or undergraduate student with a demonstrated interest in fashion, technology, branding, marketing, retail, or e-commerce.
• Experience: Able to contribute approximately 2–4 hours per week and comfortable learning and utilizing creative tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design software.
• Skills: Organized, dependable, and eager to learn, combined with strong written communication skills essential for content creation.
• Bonus: Located within California is preferred for this remote position, though it is not a strict requirement.
