Social Media Coordinator | University Partner
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at University Partner, located on-site (in-person). The University Partner assists in the execution of a university’s social media strategy. This role is crucial for diligently monitoring the university’s online presence, managing official social media properties, and actively safeguarding its online reputation by engaging with communities and addressing negative discussions promptly.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Community Management: Assist in the organization and management of various University Partner-owned social media communities.
• Content & Engagement: Assist with writing, editing, and inputting messaging and content, then monitoring and tracking discussions to stimulate follower interaction and engagement.
• Reputation Protection: Proactively engage with assigned communities to maintain positive trends for the University Partner, and take action to protect the image when negative discussions arise.
• Trend Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor online conversations about the University Partner, identify and report trends and widespread issues, and track influencers for team recommendations.
• Platform Oversight: Manage and monitor event pages, announcements, messages, reviews, and conversations across social media platforms, ensuring the removal of all content deemed offensive.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications, suitable for an early-career professional.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related professional work experience in social media or communications.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, PowerPoint), various Social Media Channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn), and Social Media Management Tools (HootSuite, Talkwalker, TweetDeck).
• Bonus: Demonstrated exposure to or experience managing social media for a brand or organization.
