Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a SkillBridge Internship/Fellowship as a Cybersecurity Engineer. The role is designed for transitioning service members from all branches of the U.S. Military. The position will be located onsite at NASA in Houston, working with a team to build out the next generation spacecraft integration and test facility.
Note: The position is not finalized and opened yet, but the company is actively searching for candidates in anticipation of approval. This is a temporary role not to exceed 24 weeks.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors
• Working in a dynamic, rapidly changing engineering environment
• Demonstrating excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills
• Interfacing with NASA Software and Hardware Engineering Leads
• Performing assessments for completeness of design and implementation throughout the full software and hardware development lifecycle
• Supporting the development of CDR and manufacturing readiness review products and participating in module system reviews
• Developing cybersecurity requirements for spacecraft systems
• Working with spacecraft module vendors to establish cybersecurity plans and verify compliance
• Performing cybersecurity oversight and impact assessments
• Supporting cybersecurity incident investigation and resolution
• Ensuring systems comply with scanning of spacecraft systems per government, NASA, and Johnson Space Center specific requirements
• Ensuring findings in the security assessment report are addressed and closed through remediation or risk assessment
• Coordinating with external organizations to perform cybersecurity remediation
• Performing other duties as assigned
Important: SkillBridge interns will not be eligible for compensation during their internship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. Upon successful completion, candidates will be prepared to apply for open positions within the company.
