DOW Skillbridge Internship | Matrix Design Group, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an internship at Matrix Design Group, Inc., with preferred locations in Colorado Springs, CO; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ or San Antonio, TX, and consideration for other remote locations. This position offers transitioning service members participating in the DOW SkillBridge Program the opportunity to provide consulting support for government entities. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Hybrid, Remote, Colorado Springs, CO; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ or San Antonio, TX preferred.
• Team: Government Consulting Services Center of Excellence (CoE)
• Mission: This person provides consulting support to government clients, developing study methodologies, analyzing data, writing unique reports, and improving processes for sustainable solutions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, Tableau

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Research assigned areas or issues and write formal and informal reports to summarize information or persuade readers to support objectives.
• Process Improvement: Support continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through process mapping, data collection, analysis, visualization, and digital solution development.
• Project Contribution: Contribute to project execution by preparing reports, developing technical documents, and contributing to others’ project deliverables.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Plan, organize, and lead virtual and in-person engagements with project stakeholders focused on visioning, brainstorming, and solving various challenges.
• Project Management: Assist with or manage projects, encompassing budgeting, scheduling, organizing teams, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, quality assurance, and invoicing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, operations research, data science, or a related field of study.
• Experience: Minimum of four years of work-related experience, preferably in engineering, public works, installation management, construction management, logistics, or base operating support. Familiarity with the organization and structure of the U.S. Department of War, with a detailed working knowledge of one or more military services.
• Skills: Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to collect and organize information from various sources; capability to use statistical analysis, simulations, and predictive modeling to analyze information and develop practical solutions.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of data visualization and automation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
