This position is a SkillBridge Internship specifically designed for transitioning service members participating in the DOD SkillBridge Program.

The specific role described in this posting is for the Government Consulting Services Center of Excellence (CoE).

Location: Preferred locations include Colorado Springs, CO; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; or San Antonio, TX. The company is also open to considering other remote locations.

Salary: This is an unpaid SkillBridge Internship.

Summary of the Role:
The successful candidate will provide consulting support to the Government Consulting Services CoE. This support is typically related, directly or indirectly, to the Department of Defense or state/local government(s). Key activities include developing study methodologies, data collection and analyses, researching, and writing unique reports, along with other assigned tasks. This role is ideal for a professional with a passion for public service, process improvement, and project management.

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
Research assigned areas or issues and author formal and informal reports of varying lengths, focusing on summarizing information or persuading readers.
Support continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through process mapping; data collection, analysis, and visualization; and development of digital solutions.
Assist with project execution, including preparing reports, developing technical documents and presentations, and contributing to others’ project deliverables.
Plan, organize, and lead facilitation of virtual and in-person engagements with project stakeholders for visioning, brainstorming, and solving challenges.
Interface with clients and their representatives individually or as part of a team to present results, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain positive relations.
Engage in project management or project management assistance, covering aspects like budgeting, scheduling, organizing teams, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring quality assurance, and invoicing.
Contribute to proposal development by providing content for approach, schedule, or other sections as required by the request for proposal or request for qualifications.

Competencies (Required Skills and Knowledge):
Familiarity with the organization and structure of the U.S. Department of Defense, with a more detailed working knowledge of one or more military services highly beneficial.
• Ability to gather input from stakeholders across all project aspects to incorporate diverse perspectives and specialized knowledge into recommendations.
• Proficiency in collecting and organizing information from a variety of sources, such as computer databases, scanned documents, surveys, and customer feedback.
• Capability to use statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other quantitative methods to analyze information and develop practical business solutions.
• Skill in writing memos, reports, and developing presentations that effectively explain findings and recommendations to managers, executives, and other project stakeholders.
Outstanding communication skills (both written and oral) and presentation abilities.
Well-versed in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and other company offices.
Preferred: Working knowledge of data visualization and automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, and others).

Education and Experience (Qualifications):
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, operations research, data science, or a related field of study.
• A minimum of four years of work-related experience, preferably in areas such as engineering, public works, installation management, construction management, logistics, or base operating support.
• A valid driver’s license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening.
