Job Description: Simulator Support Co-op

Overview & Key Responsibilities

The Simulator Support Co-op works within a team environment to design and perform both hardware and software modifications to Delta’s fleet of flight training devices and simulators. The primary goal is to ensure that these training devices consistently meet FAA requirements and effectively support pilot training needs.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Reports directly to Delta’s manager of simulator engineering.
Integrates software modifications into flight training devices/simulators to maintain commonality with Delta’s operational aircraft fleet.
Designs hardware modifications for training devices, adhering to service bulletins issued by simulator and aircraft manufacturers.
• Assists with the acceptance testing of new flight training devices/simulators.
• Supports the annual FAA requalification process for the training devices.
• Practices safety conscious behaviors across all operational processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Co-op Program Structure:
• Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation.
• This position is designed to provide educational and professional work experience.
• Requires commitment to 3 alternating semesters.
• Students cannot actively take any courses (online or in-person) while working as a Co-op, which may extend graduation by 1-2 semesters.
• Must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA following this specific schedule:
Summer 2026 – 1st rotation
Spring 2027 – 2nd rotation
Fall 2027 – 3rd rotation
Educational Background: Working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
Technical Skills:
• Experience with software editing, code debugging, and revision control using various computer platforms and operating systems.
• Strong technical, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills.

Basic Requirements:
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
